“Building bridges” means to improve relationships between people, but throughout the ages, bridges were built to shorten a route, facilitate trade, or just to bring communities closer to each other.
Peak Academy and its students want to invite a team from your school, learning centre or even a group of home-schooled friends to take part in our annual BRIDGE BUILDING COMPETITION!
We want teams to think outside the box, use some critical thinking and problem solving skills to create the best, the strongest and most durable bridge with material as flimsy as paper.
We want to create an event in which we can connect with each other, establish relationships, learn from one another, but above all build new friendships and have some fun.
Grade 4 & 5's can submit a model bridge using recyclable materials. The bridge does not need to carry any weight, so think outside the box and get creative.

Submit your model bridge before 3pm on 19 September

The competition will be conducted in 1 round, after which each team's bridge will be put under a gradually increasing load of water, up to the point the bridge fails.

The registration opens at 08:30 am and the competition will start 9:00 am sharp.
Schools and learning centres are allowed to enter multiple teams consisting of 4 members per team.

If you have more technical questions please don't hesitate to email Kevin at kevin@peakacademy.co.za
