BSc Computer Science, DePauw University, USA

Software Engineer

My name is Sabrina Contaldi, I graduated from Peak Academy in 2018 with A levels in English, Psychology, Maths, Physics and Geography.

Since I can remember, my goal was to study overseas and Peak’s Cambridge system helped me achieve it. The flexibility and independence that Peak offered allowed me to work at my own pace and take charge of my education. This approach emphasised self study and responsibility which were crucial in preparing me for University.

After completing my A Levels, I got my bachelors degree at DePauw University, a small liberal arts college in America. I am now living in Indianapolis and working as a software engineer.

Final Year Student

Before Peak Academy, I was a student at schools that didn’t quite “get me”, allow me to go at my own pace, or let me do it my own way and allow me the benefit of studying the subjects that I thought would help me achieve my goals in life.

Then I found Peak, where I not only connected with my educators, but I found a home.

After four years of hard work, dedication and excellent guidance, I was able to take the necessary steps closer to achieving my goals. During my time at Peak, I made more friends than I did in all my previous schools, which, as a reserved and awkward teenager back then, helped me develop social skills. My friends were also a great outlet for discussing things that we had all just learned or had been working on and understanding those things better. I remain in touch with most of them.

Peak gave me the confidence to be me, and Kevin Forrester’s tutelage helped me achieve distinctions in maths and physics, which I now study at University in Scotland. I found that Peak’s curriculum and outlook, helped prepare for my time at university.

I never thought I would say this though, but I miss the classes at Peak. The environment there suited me better than most and the teacher/student ratio and method of teaching, allowed me to grasp concepts quicker. There are some similar elements at university, but they don’t quite come close to those I experienced at Peak Academy.

For anyone considering enrolling their child at Peak, you’ve picked the right place – students are more than their grades, they are people with potential and the purpose of education, is the learning it inspires.

BSc Computer Science & Business Computing, UCT

University Graduate

I was able to complete my high school education in 4 years. I had incredibly supportive and kind teachers who I thoroughly enjoyed learning from and had great relationships with. I used to struggle with asking questions and speaking up in class but because of their openness and eagerness to help I was able to overcome this.

I can honestly say that I don’t think any other high school could’ve prepared me for varsity life as well as Peak did. The environment at Peak fosters strong time management skills and promotes self-discipline, and Cambridge forces you to think and have a strong understanding of concepts, which are all required for successful varsity learning.

Upon completion of my degree, I am hoping to become either a Software Developer/Engineer or Business Analyst and I’m truly grateful to Peak for giving me such a strong academic foundation which enabled me to chase this goal. Should you have the chance to go to Peak, I highly recommend that you seize the opportunity, I can assure you that you won’t regret it!

BSc Architecture, WITS

2nd Year Student

Looking back on my time at Peak Academy, my art class with Nicky stands out as one of the most impactful experiences of my high school years. Nicky was truly the most helpful and supportive teacher I've ever had, always willing to go above and beyond for my class and her other students.

She would find extra time in her day (even during her holidays) to help us with our projects. Her guidance was unmatched, giving us the best direction while still allowing our creative freedom to run wild. I always felt so comfortable and wanted in her class, and it quickly became my favourite place to be at school.

Thanks to her incredible teaching, my art skills grew phenomenally, and I’ve carried her advice and knowledge into my own artwork and application portfolios for university. Nicky’s passion for art and dedication to her students made a lasting impact, and I’m so grateful to have had her as my teacher.

Peak Academy played a vital role in fostering this supportive and creative environment. It allowed teachers like Nicky to truly engage with their students and nurture their growth, encouraging us to push the boundaries of our creativity and thrive artistically.
